the lad is on 25 goals in 29 games despite having suffered and come back from various injuries this season

better stats even than Toni in a worse team, with less support

the conveyor belt better start slowing down otherwise all those budding superstars will go to waste

German mother, Spanish father. He was born in Germany and only knows Spain from when the family went on holiday and to visit relatives there.

I don't know how many times we've had this discussion yet.-. In any case, it's been too many. Rolling Eyes

His dad is Spanish, his mum is German, he was born in Germany and most importantly, feels German. He never wanted to play for the Spanish national team, although he theoretically could, but for Germany.

He is not 'less German' than Lahm, Ballack or anyone else. This racist 'Blut und Boden' Nazi ideology is a thing of the past, I wish people abroad would finally stop with this nonsense. Modern Germany is a very multicultural society, Germany actually always was, being in the middle of Europe, and being influenced by all kinds of cultures.

It's as if people don't want to imagine Germans as anything else but the blonde-and-blue-eyed stereotype which was never true, even during Adolf's reign. This says more about them than us though.
