It is unfair...and completely *brilliant* ok

It's knockout, home and away :

A) number 2 plays number 5
B) number 3 plays number 4

The winner of A) plays against the winner of B), once again 2 matches knockout. The winner qualifies for CL qualifying, the loser plays UEFA-cup.

The loser of A) plays the loser of B) => winner plays UEFA cup, loser has nothing.

It's the same with numbers 6,7,8 and 9 for a single UEFA-cup place

Then there's a play off for the intertoto place (10 to 12 ?) and a play off for promotion/relegation....

In this case basically a KO competition for 2 Eredivisie spots. #16 & #17 of the Eredivisie play v 2nd-9th of the Eerste Divisie (tier below). All best of 2 or 3 matches.

There will also be a playoff for a CL qualification spot between 2nd - 5th ranked, a playoff for a UEFA Cup spot (6th-10th ranked) & a playoff for Intertoto (11th-14th ranked). These are all best of 2, home and away matches with Cup rules.

TOP Oss v Helmond sport the mother of all derbies.

I hope Heerenveen beat Twente in the final.

These playoffs absolutely suck; the team who finishes 3pts behind the Champions and deserves a CL qualifying round place could possibly lose it, the sooner they get rid of this the better.

Well, you can finish second in the league....and not get into Europe, that's a bit unfair.

It has so *many* good points though : normally most teams have nothing left to play for for the last 4 matchdays or so.....not with these rules.

Since we have the playoffs the last matchdays are the most exciting of all matchdays. At almost every match played there is something at stake....

Then to finish it off you get all these great knockout matches, *awesome* Ale

I should not be fussed this year, fail to win the playoffs there is a UEFA Cup place.

What are the fixtures for the CL Playoffs? Ajax have won the previous two so no doubt they will be confident in this situation.

I don't know if the KNVB will instruct the refs again to make sure Ajax win the play offs : to fucked up so bad in Europe both times that I think even the KNVB understands that it's better to send another team.

Den Haag comfortably into the second round of the play-offs by beating Go Ahead Eagles with 3-0....

Next opponent is VVV (17th Eredivisie)

What do 1st, 15th, and 18th do? Play a little post-season friendly tournament?

1st place: they now have time enough to create as much unrest as possible to force a transfer to a big league club...

11th-18th i guess they play Beach Soccer in Aruba at the moment... (if I stand correct the intertoto play-offs doesn't exist anymore)

BTW I hope the clubs prohibit the players to go out with some sluttie American teenagers otherwise we have another Joran van der Sloot/Nathalee Holloway story very soon....
