VVV- Den Haag 1-0 (Den haag wins 9-8 on penalties only the Belgian goalkeeper begois of VVV missed)

So next wednesday in Denhaag!

Twente and NEC to win the playoffs. Best teams that are playing in it.

Hope Den Haag makes it, cause it will be fun to see they still cant fill their stadium even at the highest level.

Heerenveen were pressuring Ajax, but have a man sent off now.

Bradley got two yellows in 35 minutes....

Suarez is also off, he's injured. If he stays injured Twente will make the CL playoffs : Suarez is Ajax's best player, I can't see them beat Twente without him.

The sending off was harsh to be fair, don’t know how bad Suarez injury is but went off on a stretcher and that is always not good news.

Can we please stop giving penalties for that ?

I know *every* ref gives 'm at any time, but c'mon : contact is not enough for a penalty.

This way football is becoming a girls sport Sad

Penalty for Ajax, Sarpong makes a good run from midfield, Van Dijk brings him down .. Perez scores

Ajax 1 – 0 Heerenveen

Before this, Heerenveen were the far better team, luck has eluded them.

Half time now.

Sarpong was looking for the contact, in some “countries” players get praised for this.

I'm not blaming Sarpong, I'm blaming the KNVB, UEFA and FIFA : this has become the new standard but it's completely ridiculous in my opinion.

It's impossible for the goalkeeper to do his job : a lightweight swerving ball, sharpened offside rules and still they look for a way for a way to rob goalies.

Try to make up a rule that benefits proper attacking teams, not counterattacking divers Ale

Well if a goalkeeper brings a player down it would be judged as ‘denying a goalscoring opportunity’, but the pace of the player the faintest of touches can send him down and this will cause the referee a problem, the attacking team will always get the benefit of the doubt.

Goalkeepers need a challenge, hence these new ‘lightweight’ footballs …

Players simply kick the ball past the goalie with no intention of ever reaching it (most of the times they'll never make it anyway), yet search the slightest contact with the goalie to get a penalty.

This way divers and other cheaters are getting the benefit of the doubt.

It's the slow death of football Ale

2 – 0 Ajax; Rommendahl .. well that seems to be that, even if Ajax does progress they must improve, I’d settle for a UEFA Cup place.

3 – 0 Ajax; Perez with his second goal of the game, Game well and truly over .. the sending off was the turning point no doubt, ruined the game as a contest, still Heerenveen had their chances.

Heerenveen pull a goal back through Pranjic, sloppy defending from Ajax 4 players just stood still as the ball managed to get into the penalty area.

Has he torn his knee ligaments? Seriously is bad news.

FT Ajax 3 – 1 Heerenveen; Ajax progress with a 5 – 2 aggregate win, not the convincing of performances and must be addressed before the finals.
