Borussia Mönchengladbach have signed Juan Arango (29, captain of Venezuela, playing for Mallorca) as a replacement for Marko Marin. They supposedly paid €3.6m.

Apparently, FC Toulouse are interested in signing Boubacar Sanogo (Werder Bremen, back from a loan to Hoffenheim), and offer €3m.

If we can get €3-4m for him, we should definitely sell. Would be best for everyone.

12.44 Bayern Munich have not given up hope of signing Jose Bosingwa from Chelsea, according to their chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge

Seems like Aston Villa are seriously interested in signing Borowski (Bayern). The other club that has been heavily linked is Werder Bremen, but I wouldn't be too sad if we don't sign him.

Villa offer €6m for Borowski, which should be enough for Bayern.

Bayern are now also mentioned as serious suitors for FC Groningen's Swedish striker Marcus Berg.

I wonder what they need another striker for? Unless they finally found a buyer for Toni. But going by recent interviews he gave, Toni has no plans to leave Bayern anytime soon. No wonder really, considering his astronomical wages...

It increases the chances of Gomez sitting on the bench, though... Whistle

Wasn't Berg also linked with us? scratch

Bayern are not buying Berg (now). Their scouts have just been following him for a while, like they have many young players all over Europe/the world.

Don't take every bit of semi-news so seriously. It's a tournament-less summer. This is all there is.

According to BILD, Bayern rejected an offer made by Real for Ribery:

Sneijder, VDV and a third, unnamed player + €25m.

According to Die Welt, HSV are close to signing Twente's Eljero Elia (22), supposedly one of the best Dutch talents (maybe the Dutch on here can comment on that), as a replacement for Olic. He'll cost them between €8m-10m.

I see, thank you Fey.

HSV actually love to sign Dutchies because of the hype I guess. They made some good money buying and selling Dutch players in the last few years.

It's done deal btw! Jol wanted him when he was at HSV but at ajax he wanted him as well, guess in the end the Jol factor wasnt enough for Elia.

Pretty good assessment ok

Elia is the current pace merchant flavour of the month, he might be the real thing but I wouldn't bet on it.

Don't think it was ever mentioned, but Hoffenheim have bought Franco Zuculini. Never seen him myself, but I believe he was regarded as one of the best players in the league and a top Argentinian talent. Think he's of the Gago/Cambiasso/Banega type mould.

I'm sure Cosmico will be a bit more knowledgeable?

We were interested in signing him also, but Hoffenheim were simply faster. They apparently paid some good money for him, too.

He is supposed to be a great talent, it will be interesting to see how he will do in Hoffenheim. No matter what you think about them, it can't be denied that their youth setup and integration of young players into their first team is top notch. Rangnick is a very good coach also.

He can't possibly be more overrated than Marko Marin though, so what. *shrugs* We'd have signed one of them anyway and they're both way overpriced. So I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Yes, of course. We don't sign them, because we tend to go down well with them, but because of the hype. Rolling Eyes

I wouldn't mind to see both Den Haag super stars, if fit, in one team Castelen (right) Elia (left)...

Mouth watering.... Ale

Hah... why do you get all defensive just because I was stating a mere fact? Since Dutch players are basically always 'hyped', their resale value usually is very high, and hence the risk to lose money on them rather low. There will always be an EPL club willing to pay good money for them, even if they are not world beaters. And they usually don't have too many difficulties adopting to the league.

That was basically "Dukaten Didi's" (Beiersdorfer) major strategy, which isn't a bad one for sure.

P.S.: We will see how "overrated" Marin is next season - he actually was one of the top assisters in the league for Gladbach last season. Man, you do sound bitter for sure. Laughing
